Reading the figures
A value ranking measures money, not the number of pieces. The high places of France and Italy in scarves are likely to reflect high-priced fashion and luxury accessories rather than volume, and Hong Kong (Čína) is a re-export hub, so its figures are likely to include goods made elsewhere.
Source and method
All figures are export values in US dollars as reported by each exporting country to the UN Comtrade Database (Harmonized System classification, annual data), accessed 7 October 2026 through its public API. Values are in millions of US dollars, rounded to one decimal place, and are not adjusted for inflation. Each country’s figure is the export value it reports itself, against the world as partner. The “reported total” is the sum over the countries that reported that year, not a true world total.
