This page ranks exporters by the values each country reports to the United Nations for HS 6214 (châles, écharpes, silencieux, mantillas, veils and the like, non tricoté) et HS 6204.42 (women’s and girls’ cotton dresses, non tricoté).

- Scarves and shawls: India ranked 4 de 124 reporting countries in 2024, with USD 274.7 million, ou 7.2% of the reported total of USD 3,837.3 million. Dans 2023 it ranked 4, avec 7.6%.
- Cotton dresses: India ranked 2 de 121 reporting countries in 2024, with USD 844.9 million, ou 16.8% of the reported total of USD 5,041.6 million. Dans 2023 it ranked 2, avec 16.2%.
An important limit: these rankings cover only countries that reported to UN Comtrade for that year. Bangladesh, a very large garment exporter, did not report for either year; Viet Nam and the United Arab Emirates, entre autres, did not report for 2024. A complete world ranking could place India lower than shown here. Because the set of reporting countries changes from year to year (139 reported HS 6214 pour 2023 et 124 pour 2024), la 2023 et 2024 shares are not strictly comparable.

Reading the figures
A value ranking measures money, not the number of pieces. The high places of France and Italy in scarves are likely to reflect high-priced fashion and luxury accessories rather than volume, and Hong Kong (Chine) is a re-export hub, so its figures are likely to include goods made elsewhere.
Source and method
All figures are export values in US dollars as reported by each exporting country to the UN Comtrade Database (Harmonized System classification, annual data), accessed 7 Octobre 2026 through its public API. Values are in millions of US dollars, rounded to one decimal place, and are not adjusted for inflation. Each country’s figure is the export value it reports itself, against the world as partner. The “reported total” is the sum over the countries that reported that year, not a true world total.
