Hva vi produserer

Our dress work is aimed at warm-season and resort collections. Most styles are woven, with a few made in lighter knit blends where the design needs drape. They range from simple sun dresses and shirt dresses to tiered maxis with several seams, smocked bodices and trims. The full range of women’s categories is on our ladies garments page. For holiday collections, se vår resortwear manufacturing page.

Stoffer

  • Cotton voile and cambric: light and soft, used for tiered, smocked and summer dresses.
  • Poplin and slub cotton: crisper or more textured, suited to shirt dresses and structured shapes.
  • Linen and linen blends: a dry, natural hand that creases easily, so the blend needs choosing with care.
  • Viscose and rayon crepe, og modal: fluid fabrics for wrap, slip and bias-feel styles.
  • Chambray: a light, woven denim look for relaxed shirt dresses.

Teknikker

Trykk kan være blokk,, silketrykk eller digitalt. Block suits small runs with an artisan look. Screen suits repeat colourways. Digital suits detailed artwork with many colours. We also do embroidery and schiffli, pintucks, smocking and shirring, yarn-dyed checks and stripes, and lace or crochet trims. If your design uses pleating, read our note on pleats that hold and pleats that fall out before choosing the fabric.

Ways to work with us

You can send your own design as a private label, velge blant våre design, or ask us to develop a style from a reference or mood board (ODM). If you are unsure how these differ from white label, forklarer vår veiledning om white label kontra private label sets out the choice. For boutique buyers, den guide to wholesale summer dresses covers range planning.

Getting a dress right in bulk

A dress that looks right on one sample can go wrong across hundreds of pieces. These are the points to settle before bulk production starts.

Fit sample and grading

Approve the fit sample on your base size, then grade the rest of the size set from it. US, UK and EU labels are not simple renames of each other, so send a size chart in centimetres for every size you sell, with your grade rules, rather than only the labels. Check bust, midjen, hip and length on the base size first. A wrong base size carries through every other size.

Lining and sheerness on voile

Cotton voile is sheer by nature, and light colours show more. Decide whether the dress needs a full lining, a half lining or a separate slip, and what colour the lining should be. Check it against the shade of the dress and against light, not only on the table.

Shirring and elastic recovery

Shirring depends on the elastic thread, its tension and the row spacing. Weak tension gives a loose bodice. Too much puckers the fabric and marks the skin. Specify how many rows you want and test that the bodice returns to its shape after stretching and after washing.

Print placement and matching

For all-over prints, say whether the print must match at centre front, centre back and side seams. For border or placed prints, mark where the motif sits on the bodice and at the hem. Matching takes more fabric and slower cutting, so decide it at the development stage rather than after the first sample.

Krymping og forvask

Cotton and linen shrink in the first wash. Ask for shrinkage to be tested on the fabric before cutting, and for the pattern to carry the right allowance. Tell us whether you want garment washing or enzyme washing, as these change the hand and the final measurements.

Hem sweep and fabric consumption

Tiered and maxi dresses use a lot of fabric, because each tier is wider than the one above and the hem sweep adds up fast. Fix the tier widths, the gathering ratio and the finished length early. They decide how much fabric you need per dress, and small changes to them make a large difference once multiplied across a run.

Slik fungerer en bestilling

  1. Brief eller teknisk spesifikasjon: you send your design, reference photos or a tech pack, and we confirm what is needed.
  2. Utvikling av stoff og trykk: we source or develop fabric, colours and prints, and send swatches or strike-offs for your approval.
  3. Godkjenning av prøve og passform: vi lager prøven, you review the fit and details, and we amend until you approve it.
  4. Masseproduksjon: tilskjæring, sewing and finishing begin once the sample and the bulk fabric are approved.
  5. Kontroll under produksjon og sluttkontroll: we check measurements, søm, print matching and finish during and after production.
  6. Pakking og eksportdokumentasjon: garments are folded or hung, merkes, packed to your specification and shipped with the export paperwork.
