Fabrics: cotton voile and cambric, viscose, linen, silk and polyester chiffon. Voile is the lightest and most airy; cambric is smoother and more opaque (see voile vs cambric).

Finishes: screen, block and digital prints, tie-dye, solid dyes and handloom weaves, with hemmed, fringed, tasselled or pom-pom edges (see scarf edge finishes).
