Our minimum order quantity is from 100 pieces per style, per colour for printed scarves, and from 200 pieces per style, per colour for dresses and kaftans. Colours can be split within the per-style minimum. Below-minimum quantities are quoted case by case and carry a per-unit surcharge, because the cost sits in the screen, the pattern and the set-up, not the fabric.

What is the typical MOQ for garment manufacturing in India?
There is no single India-wide figure: garment factories in India set their minimum per style, per colour, and it moves with the fabric, the print method and how much of the work the factory does under its own roof. At KK Fashion Exports it is from 200 pieces per style, per colour for dresses, kaftans and other garments, and from 100 for scarves.
- Why minimums differ between factories: a factory that buys fabric to order or sends printing and embroidery out has to cover its suppliers’ minimums as well as its own, so its MOQ comes out higher.
- What raises the minimum on one order: a custom-woven or certified fabric with a mill minimum, or a many-colour screen print on a short run.
- What keeps it low: a stock-supported fabric, digital printing, and colours split within the per-style minimum.
Minimums by product
| Printed and woven scarves, stoles, sarongs and pareos | From 100 pieces per style, per colour |
| Bandanas | From 100 pieces per style, per colour |
| Kaftans, dresses and other garments | From 200 pieces per style, per colour |
| Bags | From 100 pieces per style, per colour |
| Hats | Quoted on request |
These are the figures we work to on a normal order. They are low for a manufacturer that makes everything in-house, and they let a new label launch several designs without carrying a large stock.
What drives the minimum
- Print method. Screen printing carries a per-colour screen cost, so a multi-colour print on a small run is disproportionately expensive. Digital printing has no screen cost and is the better route for a short run.
- Fabric. Stock-supported qualities such as cotton voile can run at the minimum. A mill-woven custom quality has its own loom minimum that sits above ours.
- Certified material. Certified fabric is bought against a mill minimum, which is set by the mill and not by us.
- Embroidery and handwork. Set-up dominates on small runs.
We also make stoles and fouta towels (100 pieces per style, per colour) and co-ord sets and ponchos (200 pieces per style, per colour); hats are quoted on request.
A first order of one style in two colours is normal for us and is how most of our long-running accounts started. Startups and small brands are welcome, including private label ranges under your own brand. If your quantity is close to the minimum, say so in the first email, and we will tell you quickly which fabric and print method make it work.
How a small first order runs
- Brief. Send your design, a reference piece or a sketch, the quantity per colour and your target market.
- Fabric and print choice. We tell you which fabric and print method keep the order at or near the minimum, and what changes if you go below it.
- Sample. We make a sample before any bulk is cut, and you approve fit, colour, size and finish. The sample charge and timing are confirmed with your quote.
- Bulk. Production follows the approved sample, with checks during production and before packing.
- Repeat. A style that sells can be re-run in new colours at the same per-colour minimum.
Small order clothing manufacturer: what a small order looks like
Many buyers search for a small order clothing manufacturer in India because large factories turn short runs away. We take them on. Here is what a small order usually looks like with us:
- A first collection: two to five styles, each in one or two colours, at the per-colour minimum.
- A test order: one style in a single colour, to check fit, fabric and sell-through before you reorder.
- A capsule or drop: a few dresses or kaftans with matching scarves or bandanas, made together and shipped in one consignment.
- A top-up: a re-run of a style that has sold out, in the colours that sold.
Small orders get the same sampling, inspection and export paperwork as a large one. The main difference is the choice of fabric and print method. A stock fabric with digital print or a single-colour screen keeps a small run affordable. A custom-woven fabric or a many-colour screen print does not.
Small-batch clothing manufacturer for startup fashion brands
Yes, we make small batches for startup fashion brands: from 200 pieces per style, per colour for dresses, kaftans and other garments, and from 100 for scarves. That is a first drop a new label can fund, not a container load.
- Cotton maxi dresses and kaftans in voile, cambric or slub cotton, digitally printed, block-print style or solid with embroidery, are the most common first order we make for a new brand.
- Your label from the first batch: woven or printed neck labels, swing tags and polybags with your brand, so the pieces arrive ready to sell.
- One sample, then bulk: you approve one sample per style before any fabric is cut for the run.
- Reorders at the same minimum: a style that sells can be re-run, or recoloured, without a bigger commitment.
Low-MOQ manufacturing in Noida, Delhi NCR
Everything is made at our own unit at F-22, Sector 6, Noida, in the Delhi NCR, where we have manufactured and exported since 2003. Because printing, cutting, stitching and finishing happen under one roof, a short run does not have to pass through several subcontractors, each with a minimum of its own. That is what keeps our minimums low.
You can see the unit itself on our Noida factory and capacity page.
