What we make
Our core range is lightweight women’s scarves and stoles for spring, summer and resort seasons. You can see the styles in our women’s scarves collection. We also make sarongs and pareos, square bandanas, men’s scarves, and knitted and winter scarves. For menswear buyers there are men’s summer scarves, and for colder-season ranges there are knitted scarves in acrylic and wool-blend yarns.
Fabrics
We work with cotton voile and cambric, viscose, modal, polyester (including cotton-handfeel polyester), silk, linen blends, and acrylic and wool-blend knits. Cotton voile is light and breathable but semi-sheer. Viscose and modal drape well and take saturated colour. Polyester holds shape and suits bold prints. Silk is usually reserved for finer, higher-value lines. For natural-fibre ranges we make cotton voile, cambric and handloom scarves, stoles and sarongs, printed, dyed or woven, with your own labels; see cotton printed scarves and cotton handloom scarves. Certified fabric can be sourced from mills that hold their own certification, on request.
Techniques
Digital print suits detailed artwork, many colours and smaller runs per design. Screen print suits flat colours and repeat designs. Block print gives a handcrafted, slightly irregular look. Tie-dye is done by hand, so each piece varies. Woven checks and jacquards build the pattern into the cloth through yarn-dyed weaving, and fringes and tassels finish the edges. Each technique affects cost, colour range and finish, so tell us which look you want and we will recommend the fabric that carries it.
Details that decide whether a scarf sells
Most returns and markdowns on scarves come from small details that were never written into the brief. These are the ones to specify.
- Hem finish. A hand-rolled hem looks refined on voile and silk. A fringe suits stoles and woven scarves, and needs to be knotted or twisted so it does not unravel. An overlock edge is sturdier and suits knits and heavier cloth. Choose the finish by fabric and price point, not by habit.
- Print show-through. On light voile, a print applied to one face can show as a faded mirror image on the back. Decide whether the back should be visibly lighter, or whether the design should be printed on both faces for a cleaner look on both sides. Printing both faces is a deliberate choice that should be stated in the tech pack.
- Colourfastness. Bright reactive prints, especially deep reds, turquoises and blacks, can bleed in the first wash or rub off on other garments if they are not washed off and fixed properly. Tell us the care label you intend to use, and approve the colour on the actual fabric before bulk, not from a screen.
- Size. Typical industry sizes include 100 x 180 cm stoles and 90 x 90 cm squares, but these are not limits. We make to your dimensions. Always state length, width and the tolerance you accept, and say whether the size includes the fringe.
- Folding and packing. A scarf is often sold folded, so the fold size, the fold direction and any poly bag or band should be agreed up front. A fold can crease delicate fabrics, so folding should match the fabric.
- Labels and header cards. Woven or printed neck labels, care labels, hang tags and header cards are part of the retail product. Send artwork and placement early, and tell us the fibre content your destination market requires you to declare.
For finer lines, our guide to how custom silk scarves are manufactured explains these steps in more detail. For square formats, see our bandana manufacturing page.
Wholesale scarves in small first orders
Our minimum for scarves is from 100 pieces per style, per colour, and colours can be split within it, so a boutique or a new label can start with one design in two colourways. Quantities below the minimum are quoted case by case. Minimum order quantity by product type explains how the split works and what moves the figure.
How an order runs
- Brief or tech pack. You send your design, a reference piece or a sketch, with size, fabric and finish.
- Fabric and print development. We source or develop the fabric and prepare strike-offs or colour swatches of the print or weave.
- Sample and fit approval. You approve the sample for hand feel, size, colour and finish, and we note any changes before bulk.
- Bulk production. Fabric is printed or woven, cut, hemmed and finished to the approved sample.
- Inline and final inspection. Pieces are checked during production and again before packing for print, hems, size and flaws.
- Packing and export documentation. Goods are folded, labelled, carton-packed and shipped with the documents your market requires.

Common questions
Can you make scarves to my own design?
Yes. We make scarves to your artwork and specification (private label), from our designs, or through ODM development. You can also choose from our designs, or ask us to develop a design from a reference.
What is your minimum order for scarves?
The minimum is from 100 pieces per style, per colour. The exact figure depends on the fabric and technique.
Do you work with new brands?
Yes. We work with new labels as well as established brands. If you are unsure about fabric, size or finish, send what you have and we will suggest options.
Can the print be done on both sides of a scarf?
Yes. This is common on light voile, where a one-sided print can show through unevenly. Tell us in your brief whether you want both faces printed.
Do you make knitted and winter scarves as well as summer scarves?
Yes. We make knitted scarves in acrylic and wool-blend yarns alongside our woven and printed summer ranges.
